Working the Exseed Sat

Exseed Sat is an easy-sat. You will find it easy to work it. Here is how it works:

  • The Uplink frequency is 435.340 MHz, NBFM
  • The downlink frequency is 145.9 MHz, NBFM
  • To conserve battery, the transponder is usually off. It is switched on by transmitting the DTMF tone of ‘#’ key for a second. Once the transponder is switched on, it will remain on for two minutes.
  • The orbital times will be updated as soon as we get the details.
  • We recommend 100 watts of ERP for the uplink
  • The downlink antenna should have 7db to 10 db of gain into a low noise receiver.

Receiving the Telemetry

The telemetry is transmitted as five short ASCII words in RTTY. You can use any RTTY software to receive the telemetry.

  • Set the center frequency of RTTY to 2344
  • The RTTY  is sent as 45.45 baud, 7-bit ASCII with one start bit, two stop bits and no parity.
  • We recommend fldigi for receiving the telemetry on PCs.
